We are powerful beings,
Of love and light.
Often we do not realise,
Our power in who we are,
As we can be caught up,
Trying to fit in,
Stay in a relationship,
Working to earn money.
We are often more used,
To giving away our power to others.
This post has been instigated,
By a situation I observed.
I had a couple check into my motel today,
They have been here before,
She is older than him,
She is a lovely, gentle soul,
He is a man who likes to make comments,
About being younger than her,
Quite derogatory at times.
This is showing me,
She has no power in herself,
As she just accepts this situation,
Whether she is so used to it,
She doesn’t notice,
Or she doesn’t know she has any power.
As humans, we don’t always acknowledge,
What we put up with,
As either, it is not plain to see,
Or it is too hard to change.
What we have to understand,
Especially as women,
Is that we have power.
We do not have to prove or justify this,
We do not have to seek permission from a man,
To receive credibility, or worth.
We are powerful in our own right,
And by walking away,
Or seeing the situation for what it is,
We can then realise our power.
We are here to observe,
If we can live and understand,
We don’t have to give our power,
To anything, or anyone.
Our knowing is enough,
There is nothing to explain,
It is just our own acknowledgement,
To ourselves,
Of our power.
