Our worth comes from us,
We are our worth, our value, our love.
Nothing and no-one can give this to us,
It does come from anything or anyone,
It comes from our being on this earth,
For being our self.
We all have a body,
We all have a soul,
Our soul is our completeness,
Our bodies are our vehicle.
Whether we have $1,000,000 or $1,
Does not signify our worth,
Or lack of,
Whether we are a top court judge,
Or a homeless person,
Does not signify our value.
We are often taught to push ourselves,
To achieve, to compete,
Be the best.
No one, is not the best,
We are all our best,
At being who we are.
Yet, for many,
This is not known,
Often living our lives,
In competition with ourselves.
We may have feelings of inadequacy,
Or irrelevance,
Because we are not top of the class,
Or have the slim body,
Or whatever stories we tell ourselves.
The truth is,
No one can be inadequate,
As we are all our best versions,
Of our soul at every moment.
