We are looking for ourselves.
To feel safe, secure and protected,
Supported in all who we are.
Before we are born, we are just a being,
We are then born, a girl or a boy,
With a name, and with that name and that gender,
Comes a certain way of being.
We become, what we are taught as we grow.
And very quickly lose our innocence,
Our own awareness of self,
Our own pure way of being.
As we grow, we give out to others, to belong,
To feel safe, to feel protected.
By doing this, we are in effect,
Separating ourselves from our own knowing.
We live and justify, how we behave,
Living in resistance to our own,
Support, protection and security.
To believe, we can receive support and protection,
From another,
Is living in an illusion.
Everything has to come from our inner being,
We have to know it and feel it.
We have all come to this world,
We have all faced challenges,
It is time to dig deep to the core of our being,
And remember.
How to feel safe and protected and connected,
In our being.
As we stand strong in our own foundation,
No-one and no-thing can shake us or torment us.
We all just have to trust and know and believe,
We are safe and we are protected.
